Magazine Review

The magazine that I looked at today was American Photo this magazine just brings together a bunch of different information about photography. They do a good job with the cover photo because it is very inviting and makes you want to read or look through the rest of it. In this magazine I learned that there are so many different companies that make great equipment that I didn't know about before. I have read multiple different issues of there magazine and I like them a lot so I would definitely subscribe to it.
There are many different sections that advertise the different brands of cameras and other things like that. There are also different stories, for instance this one has 33 Best Images of the Year which displays all the photos in a really cool way and it makes you want to read more of the magazine. Each issue that gets set out is probably going to have a cool cover story and the rest of it is just more advertising and stories about different photographers.
My favorite section is where they are showing all the best pictures of the year because they are just so good. Its just interesting to see what they choose and the way that they decide to put all the photos in.

Favorite Photographer
Bryan Schutmaat

He is an artist and writer
He is known most for his recent work "Grays the Mountain Sends"
I was attracted to his work because the two images that are in the magazine go together really well and the portrait and landscape picture are both dark and cool.

Printing Paper

The 4 major characteristic of printing paper:
Thickness
Opacity
Handling
Finish

ISO brightness is the standard that quantifies the brightness of paper as it would be perceived in a setting that is illuminated with a mixture of cool-white and unfiltered daylight. ISO standard will always be brighter than TAPPI for the same paper. ISO brightness can exceed 100% by a small number.

TAPPI brightness is the brightness of paper as it would be perceived in a setting that is illuminated in some cool-white fluorescence and some filtered daylight. the UV component of TAPPI brightness is the lowest of any standard. TAPPI brightness provides the lowest number of any of the three scales and rarely exceed 100%

I like the water drop picture. I think that the blue was a good idea because mixed with the milk and you just caught it at the right moment to where the drop was still connected but you can still see everything.
My least favorite picture was the one with the bicycle wheel mainly because the colors were not as vibrant as i would've liked to see.
I like the bubble picture and I like how you cropped it.
I think you can improve on using all of the things you have to make a cool picture, like maybe using more props for the "mini" people photo.

Delicious

http://www.apple.com/iphone/world-gallery/?cid=www-us-iphone-world-gallery

On this website I looked at multiple different pictures taken by different people all around the world. It would say the name of the person who took it and the location of the photo. What all these photos had in common is that they were all taken with a iPhone6.

I learned that you can take really good photos with just a phone.

This site relates to photography because it just shows how good of a photo can come from just a phone.
